Apr.08.1978: established by decision no. 50/QĐ-UB of Committee of People of Hochiminh city with the name is First District Material Supplying Company.

Mar.12.1985: changed the name to Material Supplying Company by the decision no. of 38/QĐ-UB of Committee of People of Hochiminh city

Apr.12.1994: Incorporated to First District Manufacturing and Trading Union by the decision no. 1448/QĐ-UB of  Committee of People of Hochiminh city.

Feb.14.2001: Became a member of Ben Thanh Corporation by the decision no. 914/QĐ-UB of Committee of People of Hochiminh city with the trade mark SUNIMEX MATERIAL.

Dec.09.2003: changed the name to Ben Thanh Material Joint Stock Company by the decision no. 5332/QĐ-UB of Committee of People of Hochiminh city
